About Dead Simple Coffee

Dead Simple Coffee started in the back of a van.

Not literally — but close enough. I'm Gavin Jones, I work as an Evri courier in Cheshire. Early starts, long days, a lot of time to think. And what I kept thinking was: why is good coffee so complicated?

Every time I tried to buy decent coffee online I was confronted with tasting notes written like wine reviews, roast levels described in made-up jargon, and prices that assumed I was either a professional barista or didn't care about money. I'm neither. I just wanted a proper cup of coffee before a 5am start.

So I built Dead Simple Coffee. The idea is right there in the name: excellent coffee, no faff, nothing to decode. We source from the same farms and roasters that supply the specialty world — Ethiopia, Kenya, Colombia, Guatemala and more — but we describe them in plain English and price them honestly.

What we do

We partner with a specialist Yorkshire roaster to bring you freshly roasted, properly sourced coffee delivered direct to your door. Every bag is roasted to order. We don't hold stock, which means you always get fresh coffee — not something that's been sitting in a warehouse for three months.

We offer 18 coffees: six blends, two decafs, and ten single origins from across the world's great growing regions. Every coffee comes in three sizes and five grind options — or whole bean if you'd rather grind your own.
